Welcome to The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. The SNMA was established because of a need to produce competent and compassionate physicians who would go on to work in underserved communities. 

Today, the SNMA is the oldest and largest minority student organization that addresses the health concerns of underserved minority communities nationwide and works to instill an obligation to achieve excellence within minority students.

The Story Behind Our Student Organization

Student National Medical Association (SNMA), University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine Chapter was founded in 2000 by a group of individuals dedicated to sharing their passion with others. Based in San Francisco, we are an active and enthusiastic Student Organization with events and activities taking place year-round. We like to keep up the energy and excitement, always welcoming new members to take part. Simply put, we love getting together to do what we love.
